About The Petite Pieris

The Small St. Pete Wedding that Inspired The Petite Pieris

Hi I'm Rema Merrick --- St Pete local and small wedding enthusiast. My husband and I hosted a small wedding at the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts with 40 of our closest family and friends. It was intimate, joyful, and deeply personal — the kind of day that felt like us.

We blended our Jamaican and Persian cultures, surrounded ourselves with the people who mattered most, and poured our energy into thoughtful, meaningful details. Because our guest list was small, we were able to go all out in the ways that felt right: creating a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests and a celebration that felt warm, beautiful, and connected.

That experience changed the way I see weddings. It showed me how powerful, memorable, and luxurious a small celebration can be — and how deeply intentional every moment becomes when you keep things close and heartfelt. The Petite Pieris was born from that feeling.

I created The Petite Pieris to help couples make thoughtful choices about what to keep, change or leave out of their wedding. A place where intimate weddings are not seen as “less,” but as an opportunity to create something truly meaningful.

The Small Wedding Ideas You'll Find at The Petite Pieris

I’m also a longtime vegetarian and someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, so you’ll see that reflected throughout The Petite Pieris. Many couples today are looking for plant-forward menus, non-alcoholic-friendly celebrations, or simply a gentler, more intentional way to gather. I love offering ideas and inspiration for weddings that feel beautiful, inclusive, and true to who you are — whether you’re fully vegetarian, sober-curious, or simply exploring softer, quieter ways to celebrate.

Here, you’ll find:

  • Planning guidance to choose the guest count, evaluate venues, rethink traditions, and plan the guest experience;
  • Advice to make smaller-scale decisions work in practice;
  • Inspiration for intentional, small weddings that are plant-forward and zero-proof friendly
  • Stories and insights from my own journey, including what I learned along the way

Whether you’re planning an elopement, a 30-guest ceremony, or simply want a celebration that feels more you, I’m here to show you the beauty and possibility in keeping things small.

Because when you strip away the excess, what remains is the part that matters most: love, connection, and a day that feels truly your own.

XOXO,

Rema
